#480. ripples

September 15, 2011

my life robbed me of my life
and gave it all back to me

in the river are all the rivers
suns and moons
and all the days the nights
gleam shadow wed the dark light

honey you are all my rivers
and all my wife
sailing up the wide wide stream
boat dream knife

#449. blizzard steps

December 27, 2010

the snowy
tracks ghost
steps so lightly
over silver moon
shadows that echos
resound between tenses
of lives living lived to live
under the arbitrary pressure
in the endless new year coming

i cannot help counting the flakes
looking for duplicate crystals

hard working ticket
man in the stormy moon
bugs fly suicide in the lights
let the warm roar take over screaming
one with the crowd for a long evening high
above the green
with true fans

#292. unseen in the sun

June 13, 2010

the lighthouse lamp
with beams for my
moods long
in pale moonshine
short in rose dawn

trees entwined
apart and
sea silver
in the fire of the moon
and the stars
and the sun
quietly sleeping below
mountains beckoning clearly
through the air

this is the home
we have created and found
created and bound

alone is no longer lonely

It’s the eye of God, there’s no bottom—
and my pores opened to the smell of the road.
Cloves and small furry animals.
You pressed my flesh tender from youth and lonliness.
How long’s it been since we walked along with the weather
together?
Just talking and gesturing nobody
but us and the moon.
You are a dam or Eve and I am the candle.
Oh blow that fucker out and come to bed.

#90. Ghost Words Of New York

November 23, 2009

Frog and toe
leaf
another stretch
a spark
red oliver
dangles
the ogles.

New York City
autumn
another year
a diamond
gold moon
seduces
the eyes.

the night
      and the moon
     and the light

I can almost see you.

the bread I bake for you
      your hair thick and soft
    and rich beneath my fingers

I can almost smell you.

the sand underfoot
       the sun melting us
    the sea caressing us

I can almost feel you in my arms.

#28. Transient

September 23, 2009

Sun shines
then it hides
northern arc
will follow me
no matter
where i go
so heat and light
are mine
earned or not
here and there
and so i love the moon.
