#334. honey sleeping

July 25, 2010

storm shards illuminate the dreams
water in sheets and the thunder
dogs barking across the valley
across the lake with children
dancing between the peaks

regarded dreamer gently the changes
flicker in time with your eyelids

#312. mosquitos

July 3, 2010

mosquitos

and more mosquitos
the lake reflecting the echoes
of good amateur fireworks bang
the beautiful eve before the fourth
i will feel a few stings and then go home

#128. old one (for rich

December 31, 2009

old one
going new one
on its way
all the people need a change
least ways that’s what they say.
lake is frozen over
except for a snow covered spot
that’s the place i find
a lot.

a blue moon lights the way.

#70. There’s Something

November 3, 2009

There’s Something

in the turn of a narrow drive
a sweep of field
the decaying house stark
against Long Island sky.
The ruined garden echos lovers
whisper in the long ago
moonlight.

How beautiful can the silhouettes of trees be?
What earth stirring there is
in a small placid lake
separated from a crashing sea
by a small strip of woodlands.

Oh the ducks are so well
organized
but the gulls go thier own way.
