#449. blizzard steps

December 27, 2010

the snowy
tracks ghost
steps so lightly
over silver moon
shadows that echos
resound between tenses
of lives living lived to live
under the arbitrary pressure
in the endless new year coming

i cannot help counting the flakes
looking for duplicate crystals

I suspect you did a lot of counting from what I could gather about you weather back there….love the poem.

  2. “the snowy

this is amazing, I love this image.

  3. The word that grabs my attention the most, and which may be taken out of the context of the poem itself, is that of ‘ghost’.

Maybe it’s the color white and its association with the stereotypical white sheet ghost, or maybe its the cold weather, but snow always makes me feel like I may have forgotten that I am some lost spirit wandering the landscape.

Another excellent word choice is “duplicate crystals”. I love the image created, especially compared to the idea that no two snowflakes are the same.

So many ideas in such a concise piece.
